Description
Fenobarbital is, nonselektif barbituric central nervous system depressant effect, which is mainly used as a hypnotic sedatives, as well as antikonvulsan in doses of subhypnotic.
Phenobarbital tablets and elixir is given orally and contained in the DEA List IV. Barbituric replaced pirimidin derivative in which the basic structure is common to barbituric acid, a drug is a substance that does not have the activity of the central nervous system (CNS). The activity of CNS is obtained by replacing the alkyl, aryl alkenil, or groups on the ring pirimidin.

Dose

1. Adult
The average dosage: 100-320 mg (1½-5 grains).
Larger doses may occasionally need in people with the status epileptikus and psychosis, and psychiatric patients with insomnia.
